Her Favorite Chair

Her Favorite Chair

Ever since we bought this papasan, it's been "the dog chair." If a guest wants to sit on this chair, they have to compromise with the chis... and they always end up with one (or two, or three) in their lap.

The Frisbee Game

Rory's favorite game is chasing frisbees... and Tucker LOVES to run after the frisbees with him! I'm not sure what Tucker enjoys more: chasing the frisbees, or chasing Rory!

Frisbee Jungle

Okay, okay... it's not quite a "frisbee jungle," but I do promise I have pictures of both. Just not together!

I wanted to share a couple of pictures of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. It was such a beautiful place... and they only allow a small number of people into the park at a time, so you really do feel like it's just you and the jungle!

The Jungle

There was a long hanging bridge in the park amongst trails... so you could really see into the canopies! There were a couple of Tanagers building a nest, even. And yep... the white mist were the clouds... that's how high up we were!

Rory is crazy about his frisbees. He's not ball driven, surprisingly... but he's definitely a frisbee nut!

Frisbeee!

He's really growing up and turning into a *real* Border Collie. He stalks about constantly and stares down everything. My dad had even made a comment about how his eyes are creepy. I love the intensity in this breed.

Water Dogs

We spent yesterday morning at the park with the boys. With temperatures close to the 90's, Tucker and Rory stayed close to the water!

Little dogs can fetch, too!

Fetch in the Water

Rory was very intrigued by the foam at the water's edge... He decided to stalk it and give it the eye just in case...

Intrigue

Tucker definitely enjoys being in the water... as long as I'm close by:

Costa Rica

We arrived back home late on Friday night... the dogs were very excited to have us back!

We had such a GREAT time! Costa Rica was such a beautiful and friendly country... I have nothing but good things to say about our experiences there. From a night tour through the cloud forest reserve in Monteverde to riding the ziplines at 300+ feet over the tree tops, we had a blast!

Here are just a few pictures from our trip...

This is a shot of Lake Arenal from our drive towards Monteverde:

Lake Arenal

Here's Lake Arenal again, but viewed from the base of the Arenal Volcano:

These are lava flows from the early 1900's... and Arenal Volcano in the background. Unfortunately it was cloudy that day and we could not see the top:

Arenal Volcano Lava Flows

Poas Volcano was amazing... there are geysers in the main crater which cause all of that smoke! The aqua colored "lake" is mostly sulfuric acid and rain water... it smelled like rotten eggs whenever the wind blew the cloud of smoke towards us! Want to go for a swim?

Leaving for Costa Rica

Unfortunately, I'll only be gone for a week!

The dogs will be at home, so they hopefully won't be too stressed out.

We're renting a Jeep and driving from San Jose to the Arenal volcano area... we'll be staying in this location for a couple of nights. This is the most active volcano in Costa Rica.
Then we are off to the cloud forests of Monteverde... a cloud forest is a rainforest at a higher elevation.

I hope that everyone else has a fantastic week!
