Spring is in the Air

The weather is warming up down here in sunny, tropical Florida. We've had an unusually cold winter (as the rest of the country can relate to as well!).

Rory's stock work lesson was rained out on Saturday (unfortunately) which led to an ornery Border Collie Monster struck with cabin fever. We spent the afternoon today at the park, exploring the wooded trails (meaning Rory tearing through the forest like a mad man!) and watching Rory cool off in the lake. The park we go to is on 33 acres, with grassy fields spotted with palm trees, a nice sandy beach connecting to the town's lake, and tons (upon TONS!) of wooded trails. Doggy heaven.

I hope that everyone else (doggies included!) had a great weekend as well!

Happy 4th Birthday, Chloe!

Today is Chloe's fourth birthday, and I can hardly believe it's here already!

It seemed like just yesterday she looked like this:

She was one of five in a litter of all females... she's the 2nd puppy from the right:

Even as a 3-4 week old puppy, she was on the go and nothing could stop her!

She came home to us at 12 weeks of age...

And she really bonded with Rylie from the start... here she is at 4-5 months old:

After she turned one, we figured that her level of crazyness would slow down... we were so wrong!

She matured into a beautiful girl by the time she reached the age of two...

And at age 3, she was still as crazy, sweet, and loving as ever!

Chloe fills our lives with so much joy and happiness. She really is the sweetest girl I've ever met... and we love her so much!

Rory Lurves Sheep

If we all had Rory's work ethic, there would be flying cars and cities built on mars already!

After working some sheep, Rory ripped off part of his dew claw... we bandaged it up, and he kept on going. He's such a good boy.

Dental Day

Sorry for the lack of updates... things just haven't been too exciting around here lately!

Tomorrow morning (at 7:15 am, UGH) Rylie is going to the vet office for a dental. She's four years old and her back teeth are pretty horrible. I'm pretty dilligent about dental care, but Rylie's mouth is SO tiny, and it's really hard to get a brush back there. Even RMBs and other chews won't remove the yuckies from her very back teeth. So, off to the vet we go.



"Teef... we haz dem."

Rory and Tucker, and even Chloe all have nice white teeth, all the way to the very back of their mouths.

On Saturday Rory has a herding lesson, where he gets to show off his mad skillz on sheep. He's always so content after he puts in a hard day's work. It's so nice being able to watch dogs do what they were bred to do!

Will you be my Valentine?

As the sun lowers towards the horizon, the elusive Border Monster can be spotted... he searches for a Valentine and hopes he won't have to spend the afternoon alone!



There, in the lake, he spots something... could it be a Valentine?



It's a cute little pittie! He seriously loooved this dog... she was a cutie!

All in all, it was a very good Valentine's Day spent at the lake!

Seeing Double?

Nope, it's not Tucker.



It's his littermate, Apollo, who bears a very striking resemblance to him!

Not only do they have similar faces... but they also share the same butt fur!



Although Tucker and Apollo are brothers by blood, Rory is sure to remind us that he's Tucker's real brother!

All About Chloe

Chloe is definitely our sweetest dog. She's always happy and willing to please... everything is so exciting to her and she's always wagging her tail. Give her a comfy lap and some love, and you have a new best friend!

Chloe was born on February 26, 2005... I can't believe she's turning 4 in just a few weeks! She is white with blue merle markings, and has the prettiest blue eyes. She loves burrowing into anything warm... and always sleeps under the covers.



Rylie and Chloe are always together... even though they each have their own crates, she always crams into the same crate as Rylie to snuggle.

Chloe also happens to be our hardest dog to get pictures of... she's always making strange faces in photos!



She loves being in the tub... and if you're taking a bath and not paying attention, she'll try to climb inside.
