A Windy Day with the Boys

Our weather has finally warmed up, but the cold temperatures have been replaced by wind!

Tucker looking svelte with the wind blowing through his hair...errr...fur:

We took Rory to the lake yesterday afternoon, and he had a blast. I can't believe how mature my handsome boy is looking lately... he'll be a year old in March! He weighs 32lbs now, but could stand to gain a couple more. I wish I had his metabolism!

"I has teh hansum," says the Border Monster.

"O HAI Aussie! We'z go herding nao plz!"

Wet dog is wet.

How Could You?

Rory wonders why he needs to be bathed... considering he's just going to get dirty all over again!

Florida Snow

When the temperatures drop low, the chihuahuas tend to hide in any warm place they can find...

Photobucket

Freezing rain, ice, and snow (yes, snow in Florida!) put a serious damper on our weekend plans. Poor Rory was supposed to go to his herding lesson on Saturday, but the weather obviously put that activity to a halt.

Four dogs + below freezing temperatures + freezing rain = cabin fever and two crazy humans.

Real Dogs Eat Snow

Well, what else are snow balls for?!

Photobucket

Temperatures are still very low down here in the South, and although there isn't any snow (yet!), I woke up to a miriad of frost surrounding every house and car in my neighborhood! Rory loves the cold temperatures... however, the chihuahuas are doing what ever they can do to stay inside.

I'm finally getting around to sharing some of the pictures we took on vacation. Here's a heaping sample for you all...

Rory looooves his daddy:

The views of the mountains covered in snow were so peaceful!

We hiked through the snow to get to this creek:

And we even made a friend over the holidays!

Here's one more of my photographic boy:

Stay warm... there's nothing better on a cold winter day than snuggling real close with your doggies!

For Those Tucker Lovers...

Ian joined a group on Flickr where he'll be posting a different creative picture of Tucker every week (52 weeks of Tucker).

You can check out his pictures at the following link:

Be sure to go take a look as the weeks go on :)

Wintery Wednesday

It's freezing down here in Florida, and I literally mean freezing! Our temperatures dropped into the high 20s overnight!

Tucker decided to spend his birthday evening hanging out in the den in front of the fireplace to keep warm.

Happy First Birthday, Tucker

It's hard to believe that my evil little bundle of blue fluff turned a year old today.

Photobucket

Tucker was one of 2 boys in a litter of 4. Three of them were long coated.

Photobucket

As soon as I laid my eyes on his cute face, I knew it would be love...

Photobucket

I met him for the first time when he was six weeks old...

Photobucket

He was the fluffiest chihuahua puppy I had ever seen! How was it possible for anything to be that cute!

Photobucket

He came home at 10 weeks of age:

Photobucket

Sooo cute and fluffy:

Photobucket

Even after he began to blow his coat, he was still adorable:

Photobucket

And after his puppy coat was completely gone, he was still a cute (albeit naked!) boy!

Photobucket

But he quickly began to grow his adult coat...

Photobucket

And wow, has that coat grown! Did you know that long coated chihuahua coats grow up until 3 years of age?!

Photobucket

Happy first birthday, Tucker man!

You HERD that right!

We spent the day herding with Rory. He is doing a GREAT job so far. His trainer feels he shows a lot of promise... and you can see how serious Rory's desire is to work by just looking in his eyes.

Rory Herding - 2

Rory Herding

After working on and off for over four hours, Rory crashed on the couch. The daily grind is so exhaustive!

Relaxing after a hard day!

All is peaceful until Tucker decides to tell Rory a drunken story...

How About a Drunken STORY?!

Rory hopes that Tucker will stop going on and on...

OK! ENOUGH Already!

And when all else fails, HEADLOCK!

Headlock!
